TAX HOWARD (CANBERRA)
Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD admits his government will face more political heat over
the GST before the new tax comes in on July 1.
But Mr HOWARD says he believes Australians will support the new tax system once it's
up and running.
Mr HOWARD's told ABC radio he expects to be sailing into the gale over the GST until
the first of July.
His comments follow a Newspoll which found 56 per cent of Australians oppose the GST
