Vic: Son allegedly assaults parents then calls ambulance
MELBOURNE, Feb 10 AAP - A 33-year-old man allegedly assaulted his parents and threatened
them with a knife in Victoria's south west last night before calling an ambulance for
them.
Police went to a farmhouse at Tyrendarra, near Portland, about 7pm (AEDT) following
reports of an argument between the man and his parents.
A 55-year-old woman was allegedly pushed around and kicked, while her 65-year-old husband
was allegedly kicked when he tried to help her.
The couple's son is alleged to have smashed windows before arming himself with a knife
and starting to make threats.
But it is believed the son then called an ambulance which took his parents to hospital
where they were treated for bruising and released.
Police found the alleged offender in an old house next door.
He will face Portland Magistrates' Court at a date to be fixed.
